Home > About Us > Inclusive Governance Project

Inclusive Governance Project

Scottish Autism commissioned three autistic-led organisations, the National Autistic Taskforce (NAT)Autism Rights Group Highland (ARGH) and Autistic Mutual Aid Society Edinburgh (AMASE) to work with us to develop an inclusive approach to inclusive governance.

The project team engaged with our supported individuals and their families, board of trustees, senior and wider leadership team, staff and the wider autistic community to develop an inclusive governance approach that would maximise participation amongst our key stakeholders.

The aim was to answer the following questions:

  • Did participants feel that they had a say in the decisions Scottish Autism makes?
  • How could Scottish Autism become more inclusive in the way that decisions are made?

Participants could engage via individual interview, group discussion, survey or e-mail.

The final project report was made available following the Inclusive Governance Event: Meaningful participation in decision making at all levels in Scottish Autism, that took place online on Wednesday 13th December 2023.
